Background

Valdes was the first village built by Anela Valdes and her followers in 54 AT. The settlers and subsequent immigrants named the village Valdes in honor of its founder. Valdes Village was built near Crescent Mine, and served an important role in Crescent Island's development. However, Valdes prosperity waned as the minerals from Crescent Mine depleted.
